Arianne Martell

Arianne grew up at the Water Gardens. She has two younger brothers Quentyn and Trystane

When she was 14, Arianne found a letter that her father was about to send to her brother Quentyn, in which he stated that his son would one day sit in his place and rule Dorne, suggesting that Prince Doran intended for her younger brother to succeed him, passing over Arianne entirely. According to her own account, she cried about her discovery for many days.

She saw the marriage prospects Prince Doran entertained for her as further proof of these plans, as she expected a marriage match that befit her rank as a high lord’s heiress. Instead, Prince Doran publicly entertained suits from various elderly lords. Unbeknownst to her, he merely used these suitors, which he knew Arianne would refuse, as cover for his plan to marry his daughter to Viserys Targaryen as part of his long-term goal to bring House Targaryen back to the Iron Throne.

As heiress to Sunspear, she was permitted to hold the titular governance of Dorne during her father’s absences. Although until his death Prince Oberyn was considered to be the true reigning power at these time.

The death of Viserys alters Doran’s plans with instead a marriage between Quentyn and Daenerys, while Arianne is secretly reinstated as the heiress to Sunspear. Soon after her failed attempt of trying to put Mrycella on the Iron Throne, finds out about her fathers true plans.

Aegon Targaryen/Young Griff

A comet was seen above King’s Landing on the night Aegon was conceived, which led his father Rhaegar Targaryen to believe that he was the prince that was promised. Aegon was just an infant during Robert’s Rebellion. During the Sack, Aegon, his sister and his mother were brutally killed in the process.

Aboard the Shy Maid a young man called Young Griff claims to be Aegon explains his apparent survival to Tyrion Lannister. According to his account, the infant killed during the Sack of King’s Landing was a tanner’s infant son.

The tanner sold his boy to Varys for a jug of wine. Varys then took custody of the real Prince Aegon. He then smuggled the genuine Aegon across the narrow sea. Varys first entrusted the boy to Illyrio and eventually found an adoptive father of the exiled Lord Jon Connington.

There is a hint of doubts as to whether or not he is actually Aegon Targaryen.

Lyanna Stark

Lyanna Stark was the younger sister of Eddard Stark and was betrothed to Robert Baratheon.

During the tourney of Harrenhal feast Rhaegar Targaryen, performed a sad and beautiful song that made Lyanna weep.

Rhaegar went on to win the tournament and shocked all present by passing over his wife to crown Lyanna,  as queen of love and beauty. About a year later Lyanna was kidnapped by Rhaegar.

Robert believes that she was carried her off and raped her.Barristan Selmy is convinced that he her loved her and though that love sent thousands to their deaths.

Rhaegar spent much of the war at the Tower of Joy with Lyanna. He left to join the war effort and fought at the Trident, where Robert slew Rhaegar.

Ned rode to the Tower of Joy with his six companions and found the three remaining loyalist members of the Kingsguard guarding it. Only Ned and Howland Reed survived the ensuing battle. Ned found Lyanna inside the tower in a “bed of blood”, dying. Lyanna died in a room that smelled of “blood and roses”. She called for Ned to promise her something. When her brother gave his word, fear left her.

Neither the content of the promise nor the cause of her death are currently known. It is theorized that she died giving birth, possibly to Jon Snow.

Tower of Joy + Lyanna’s Death + Bonus R+L=J

The Showdown at the Tower of Joy took place at the Tower of Joy in Dorne at the the end of Robert’s Rebellion. According to Eddard dream, he and six of his companions approached the tower to recover Eddard’s sister, Lyanna Stark. They found it guarded by three members of the Kingsguard: Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Oswell Whent, and Lord Commander Gerold Hightower.

Ned found Lyanna inside the tower in a “bed of blood”, dying. While the combatants clash, Lyanna screams. Lyanna died in a room that smelled of “blood and roses”. A fever had taken her strength. Her voice had been faint as a whisper. There was fear in her eyes, while she called for “Ned” to promise her something. When her brother gave his word, the fear left her. They were still holding each other as she “gave up her hold on life”. Rose petals slipped from her palm, dead and black.

Neither the content of the promise nor the cause of her death are currently known. It is theorized that she died giving birth, possibly to Jon Snow.
